Federal Funding Exhausted, Local Program to Launch

Today, August 13, 2025, the City of Columbus accepted the last application for its federally-funded Emergency Rental Assistance program.

In Columbus and Franklin County, this COVID-era program aided over 32,000 households and distributed over $100 million over four years to help residents and landlords prevent evictions, reduce homelessness, and ensure housing stability during the pandemic and economic hardship that followed.

While the federally-funded program is now complete, a new City-funded program called the “Resilient Housing Initiative” will launch this fall. Until that time, residents may continue to access the other services and supports, including the Housing Problem Solver program and limited rental assistance programs, that remain listed on the Rentful614 website.

This website will continue to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information on rental resources that are available in Central Ohio.
