Upcoming End of Federal Funding Notice

The federal government's Emergency Rent Assistance program ends on September 30, 2025.

Because funding is nearly exhausted, all applications from Columbus’ “Housing Problem Solver” program received after July 16, 2025, will be added to a waitlist. Funding for such applications is not guaranteed.

Limited financial assistance is still available for families with a minor child, and individuals who are pregnant, veterans, or active duty service members. Current relief programs can be found on Rentful’s “Rent Help” page.

Columbus residents who are facing homelessness can still receive free one-on-one help from a “housing resource specialist”. These trained professionals can provide referrals, diffuse conflicts, and help solve housing problems. Find one near you on Rentful’s “Problem Solvers” page.
