About: Community Mediation of Central Ohio (CMS) is devoted to reducing the harmful effects of tenant/landlord conflict by providing and teaching respectful dispute resolution strategies that allow tenants and landlords to voluntarily reach lasting, satisfying settlements to their disagreements.
CMS’ has specially trained impartial mediators available to assist both tenants and landlords in working out their eviction-related disputes. The goal of CMS’ Housing Stability Program is to ensure that landlords receive their appropriate rental payments and tenants maintain their current housing or, if necessary, have adequate time to relocate to alternative stable housing.
For assistance in avoiding the expense and aggravation of an eviction, tenants and landlords may contact CMS by phone before or after an eviction action is filed; or they may come to CMS’ table at the courthouse in the hall just outside the courtroom on the day of their eviction hearing.
